The first road signs and <zebra crossing> 08.09.2016

The pedestrian crossing in the form of “zebra crossing” first appeared in Great Britain in 1951. The bright strips were visible to the driver from the distance of 100 meters. Before that the pedestrian crossings were designated by the metallic circles and were visible enough only to the pedestrians. The road signs more similar to the modern ones first appeared in France in 1903. The first three signs installed on the roads were - <<steep descent>>, <<dangerous turn>> and <<rough road>>.
